What Is Love?
February 14, 2018

Not only is today Midweek Flow day, but it’s also Valentine’s Day! For some, this is a fun holiday to show your significant other a bit of extra love. For others not so much. Whether you love or hate Valentine’s Day, it’s always a good idea to be filled with Biblical knowledge on love, sex and dating. Like the team said this Sunday, “You don’t want to be the wrong person when you find the right person.”

Here are a few of our favorite resources on building healthy relationships that have pushed each of our team members to have healthier marriages, dating relationships and even friendships!

1. Swipe Right by Levi Lusko

There is nothing more powerful on earth than the forces of love, sex, and romance. In fact, relationships are a matter of life-and-death importance. God’s dreams for your life are not intended to kill your joy but to enhance it. Whether you’re fed up with dating and hooking up as usual, tired of being single, numb because of porn and casual sex, or curious about how to improve your marriage, this book is for you.

2. 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman

Between busy schedules and long days, expressing love can fall by the wayside. We forget to compliment, to give gifts “just because,” to linger in our embrace. The things that say “I love you” seem to either not get said or not get through. This is a book about saying it—and hearing it—clearly. No gimmicks. No psychoanalyzing. Just learning to express love in your spouse’s language.

3. Marriage Today by Jimmy and Karen Evans

At MarriageToday We Know God Has A Plan. He wants families to enjoy the emotional security and fulfillment that strong marriages bring. That’s why He has called our ministry to establish, strengthen, save, and restore family and marriage relationships through a Biblical message of healing, restoration, hope, and encouragement.

4. Love That Lasts by Jefferson and Alyssa Bethke

We’ve answered some of your questions since we got married four years ago, but until now, we’ve never taken the time to sit down and get to the essential ways to make a lifelong marriage possible. Alyssa and I want a healthy, vibrant relationship as much as the people who ask us how to have one. We’re excited to invite you into on our personal journey to discover how to make that possible.

These are all resources that are powerful tools to help you establish the Biblical definition of marriage and have access to so many amazing resources to continue growing as a couple!  Dive deep into these great tools and watch the works God does in your life, marriage and relationships.
