The beginning of the new year is always an impacting time. We try to move on from the last year and focus on the goals of the new. Unfortunately, when we think about the year past, our minds seem to always focus on what we were not able to achieve; yet every year we make a list of resolutions that we convince ourselves of attaining.
This is why we are DREAMERS.
We all have had a dream: to be an astronaut, a professional athlete, president, etc., but when do our dreams become too far fetched and unreachable?
This question is answered in many different ways for many different people, but how can we dream and actually accomplish what we set for our lives in this coming year?
A Godly perspective allows each and everyone of us to think more like God and have a new perception on people.
Romans 12:2 says :
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
When our perspective is alike with God’s, we are able to determine the things that God has intended for us in order to remain in Him. Our perspective needs to change in order for us to be realistic with who we are, and what we can and cannot accomplish. God has equipped each and everyone of us with special gifts so that we can direct our lives in the things that will ultimately bring happiness to us and God.
God created us to be happy, and we need to fully embrace who we are; that is when we will find breakthrough within ourselves and do what He intends for us to do in the right moment.
Timing is key with God. We need to be realistic with our plans and goals to be able to determine if it is something that is truly achievable in our current state.
Sometimes God has something set for your life, but we can mistakenly try to grasp it in the wrong time; good things with bad timing usually don’t last, but good things in a good timing are a God dream.
Let us not forget that regardless of the plans and ideas that we have for 2017, God’s voice is still prominent.
Proverbs 16:9 states that:
“We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps.”
So before 2017 begins, I encourage you to pray and listen to God’s voice, embrace yourself in His perspective, and be mindful of His timing.
